I’m not 100 percent sure how I am functioning as an adult today; this weekend was downright exhausting. But it was exhausting in the best way possible — and I’m not just saying that because I finally got my car back.
Instead of recapping everything from the whole weekend, I’m going to start by focusing on yesterday — I’ll get to Saturday later this week. My Sunday was not only punctuated by disgustingly gorgeous weather, it also had three major highlights:
- I got to walk in the Annapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade, amid a sea of adorable, adoptable pooches from the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. In fact, my escort for the parade was a gorgeous, cuddle-slutty golden retriever named Carolina. Though she’s not up for adoption, folks. I also wore an aggressively large bow, which made the rounds as the afternoon progressed.
- Then there was the parade after party at Fado Annapolis, and their patio was swarming with even MORE puppies. While I was there, we were introduced to a shot that included bacon. I’m basically an 80-year-old masquerading as a 31-year-old, so I’m not a shots person at all — but bacon. Oh, and I should mention that their Guinness mayo is awesome.
- We went to the Annapolis Homebrew Club's Widmer Brothers home brew competition at Metropolitan. I was already completely spent from the day’s festivities, but I wanted to support some of my favorite folks. I’m so glad we did. It was such a fun gathering of great people celebrating truly spectacular beer. And congratulations to Don Haller of the Annapolis Homebrew Club — his Gingerbread Spiced Ale was the big winner!
